Position Competency Thorough knowledge of health and safety federal, state, local regulations, and policies, such as:
CALOSHA, Federal OSHA, EPA Certified with one of the following or equivalent:
CSP, ASP or OHST Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Role ExpectationsDevelopment and Implementation of applicable OSHA Required Written Safety Programs:
Develop and lead implementation of regulatory required and best practice written safety and health programs for warehousing and packaging environments.
Ensure the written safety and health programs are strategic, tactical, and transformational for all applicable safety and health management activities.
Assist in monitoring regulatory compliance, compliance with Allen Distribution safety program requirements, incident investigation and documentation, OSHA compliance efforts, and safety training.
Ensure all applicable required written safety and health programs and existing Allen Distribution SOP's are in alignment.
Continuously monitor the performance and effectiveness of the company required written safety and health programs and implement adjustments and improvement as needed.
Safety Process & Accident / Injury Assessment:
Evaluate, assess and review safety procedures and policies relevance to the work environment.
Analyze accident reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts by reviewing recorded root cause analysis and documented corrective actions for effectiveness.
Track incident, injury and damage metrics and provide trending analysis monthly.
Follow up on all reported injury and incidents within 48 hours reviewing thoroughness of documented root cause(s), (the 5 why's) along with documented corrective and prevention measures to mitigate future incidents.
Provide recommendations on how to minimize or ultimately avoid safety risks and hazards in the workplace.
Create and develop emergency workplace procedures, such as but not limited to:
work place injuries, emergency evacuations, etc Reports to Safety Manager highlights from the Safety Committee monthly meetings Report monthly on safety metrics actual vs goal Report monthly on safety action plan and progress Report weekly accidents Facilitate the Safety Committee Meetings monthly.
o Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Training & Audits:
Prepare and conduct accident prevention training and health and safety training (semiannual) and new hire training sessions for employees (monthly).
Maintain safety data and records.
Responsible for reviewing monthly safety audit inspections and reviewing audits for identified misses and analyzing potential trends sharing with leadership.
Performs on site safety audits / surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective / preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
This is open to change depending on increased safety incidents at respective regions.
Participate in Raffles or other insurance safety training seminars, workshops and programs to enhance Allen's safety program In no instance should the duties, responsibilities, and requirements outlined be interpreted as all inclusive.
